Hi, I'm Dave

My name is Dave Skinner, and I am a Democratic candidate running for the Vermont House of Representatives for Grand Isle County and West Milton. I live in Grand Isle with my wife Amy, an Oncology nurse, and I am a woodworker and small business owner. I am a proud member of Grand Isle/North Hero Rescue where I serve as a Vermont Emergency First Responder and Board Secretary. I also sit on the board of the Champlain Islands Farmers Market, where I am also a vendor. I value my role as a contributing member of our community.

Following a career in business, journalism, and radio I know the value of financial accountability and clear communication. A successful and responsible state government starts with the ability to think independently and build relationships.

 

Vermont farmers continue to struggle, property taxes continue to soar, and members of our community face housing insecurity, hunger, a lack of affordable healthcare, and an evolving education system. I believe that future generations should be able to start a family and afford to live and stay in Vermont.

 

I am ready to listen, ready to do the work, and ready to represent every voice in our community.
